Summer Solstice Success

On the glorious morning of Saturday 21st June, car enthusiasts gathered at Shelsley Walsh for our 1st Open Hill Climb Event. A combination of beautiful , classic vehicles and some very fast specials experienced the unique opportunity of driving the famous course and Alvis, Austin, Bentley, BMW, Jensen, Lotus, Mercedes, Porshe, Rolls Royce, Triumph were amongst some of the marques that were displayed in all their glory and full to the brim of friends and family in cavalcades up the hill.

With the luck of weather on our side, the day continued to draw in crowds right into the afternoon. Marking the longest day of the year and beginning of summer, the BBQ grills were lit up serving some lovely food, Pimms were accompanied with strawberries and mint and the 5 piece Jazz Band created a relaxing atmosphere in the courtyard. This was in contrast the vibrant, loud noises coming from the pits. Whilst the clear British sun lapped at the tyres of vintage cars, across the paddock into the orchard a wonderful driving experience could be found, Steve Gardner and his Rebel Replicas gave children the thrill of driving a scaled version of Land Rovers.
Exclamations such as “excellent” “brilliant” “thank you so much book me in for next year” and “do we have to stop” accompanied over doses of smiles!Yes we will be holding the event again next year so as places are limited book your place for up to 9 runs asap.

We would like to say a big thank you for all of those who supported this event and the money raised for St Richard’s Hospice. A huge thank you to all sponsors; Ologic, RH Insurance, Startin Honda, The Bridge at Stanford, Red5 Print and Design and Magic Car Pics, and of course The Replacement Service . A thank you to Shelsley Walsh for hosting the event and all staff that contributed to making the day run smoothly, we will see you all next year.

As Many of cars are heading over to Le Mans for the Classic 24 Hour Race we wish all a very safe journey and look forward to hearing about it soon.

Fresh New Talent

apprentice

The Replacement Service has always been an advocate of giving young people opportunities to start their careers, and by working in conjunction with TDM Wyre Academy, TRS now offers highly respected apprenticeship programmes that give young people exceptional qualifications whilst gaining essential experiences in the workplace.

At TRS, we believe that our talented apprentices gain a valuable experience from the start of employment and progress through their chosen field with the guidance from ourselves. Our professional team share their relevant knowledge and expertise to ensure our apprentices are fully equipped in completing their apprenticeships to the highest standard.

With few and limited companies in Worcester City Centre offering placements for apprentices, TRS offer something unique. Our apprentices show the ability and vision to achieve a national accredited qualification and also have a bright and prosperous future within the company.

I have been working at TRS as part of my apprenticeship for almost a year, and I have learnt lots about my field in that time. From the start I have been given important tasks to perform and I have begun to contribute to the company’s production code. I have gained valuable experience into how a real-life IT job works – what is expected of me and how I can deliver on those goals, as well as how to organize my own time and work as part of a team. As part of the course, I have combined academic study with a day-to-day job in a work environment. This has allowed me to split my time between studying for qualifications and applying my theoretical knowledge practically as part of  the IT team. For me, the apprenticeship has been an invaluable learning experience, and I hope that I can continue learning and putting my skills to good use at The Replacement Service in the future.

Joe Andrews, IT Apprentice

The Replacement Service really is a leader in their field and their continuing commitment to creating fantastic IT opportunities for young people in Worcestershire is great for the young people in this area.

– Derrin Kent, TDM MD
