Growing The Digital Economy

Category : March 2016

hand touching touch pad, social media concept

A recent study from the Centre of Economics and Business Centre showed that the digital economy, covering media, internet and creative businesses within the UK is overtaking Finance and the Retail Sector. This fully supports the adaptations the insurance industry and TRS have been making to provide the best customer experience and smoother claims cycle for all parties.

Since 1987, TRS have created claims solutions and in doing so have the leading validation database, ClaimBrain, an application which can be used at desktop or in the field. Today, ClaimBrain continues to grow in it’s capabilities with cleansing of data and programming done daily. At first notification of loss, a user is able to identify the liability, organise appointments and offer an end to end solution, whether it be a cash settlement or replacement. Based upon our customers requirements, ClaimBrain can be tailored to individual needs including white labeling and combine this technology with specialist customer service. This is reflected in TRS’s 0.026% complaints ratio.

Shortlisted for POST Claims Awards

ppeca16-logo-invertedReturning for its 6th year, POST Claims Awards are back on June 2nd at the Royal Garden Hotel in London with TRS among others to attend. TRS’s reputation within the industry has been upon its excellence customer service and unrivaled software solutions, however the company over the last few years have been heavily involved in offering apprenticeships and work placements, with acknowledgement of this at this years ceremony.

Following their success in partnering with training providers, currently TRS has a 100% record of apprentices securing employment, some of which have gone onto managerial roles and playing significant roles in developing and expanding services. Among those who have gone through the scheme is Victoria Rawlings, Media and Marketing Manager at TRS whom is currently Worcestershire’s Apprentice of The Year and up for POST’s ‘The Rising Star’ Award.

I am incredibly grateful for the nomination and opportunities that TRS have given myself and other apprentices within the company. It has been a challenging but rewarding 2 years. A fantastic recognition for the company that deserves every bit of success.

For a full list of the shortlist, visit The Claims Awards.

Congratulations to all those nominated and good luck to those shortlisted!

Rise To The Top

Category : March 2016

MadeByAppsAlongside other businesses and learning providers, TRS will be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week and the contributions that each apprentice has made to the company. Since 2013, TRS have been heavily involved in partnering with local trainers to offer young professionals work experience and apprenticeship placements with the number of vacancies increasing year on year.

Starting out his career as an apprentice, CEO James Hyslop is a huge supporter. Working with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Modern Claims Magazine and most recently local authorities, James and TRS hope to encourage other employers to follow suit and within the Insurance Industry change the image and reputation the sector has. Statistics released last week showed that by 2018, 25% of insurance professionals would have retired creating a huge employment hole. Whilst the industry acknowledges this and the benefits of investing into tomorrows workforce, engaging with the younger generation is more of a hurdle. Working with the Connected Schools and Business Programme and MP Robin Walker, TRS have began touring schools and colleges to introduce Finance and Insurance and share real experiences that apprentices within the company have had.

It is important to nurture young talent with the ability to train meaningfully where they will achieve employment after the period of time and take them away from academia, which serves a fantastic place but it doesn’t put food on the table in the same way a meaningful job does

James Hyslop

Currently 30% of the TRS workforce is studying a Level 3 or Higher Apprenticeships and all act as Apprenticeship Ambassadors. For National Apprenticeship Week, TRS will be featured in a number of social media campaigns, apprentice trip to the Houses of Parliament and working on a number of projects for release later this year.
